Actor Steve Landesberg played Sgt. Arthur P. Dietrich on classic NY comedy show 'Barney Miller.' He was known for his distinctively dry, deep voice, which was also heard in cartoons and commercials. Landesberg was nominated for three Emmy awards for the part. In 2010, Landesberg died at the age of 74. Actor Rob Reiner played Mike "Meathead" Stivic, the liberal, Polish son-in-law to Carroll O'Connor's racist working stiff Archie Bunker. He played the part for seven seasons. Reiner left acting and went on to become a successful film director with such hits as “This is Spinal Tap”, “Stand by Me”, “The Princess Bride” and “When Harry Met Sally”.
