🦫❄️ Have you ever seen a beaver surfing?😉 On a serious note, why is this beaver floating by on a slab of ice? It looks unusual, but it’s actually clever survival. Beavers are built for icy rivers and will sometimes hop onto floating ice to rest, drift with the current, conserve energy, or move between territories. Their dense fur and fat keep them well insulated, even in freezing conditions. Nature often surprises us — what looks strange to us is simply wildlife adapting beautifully to winter.

Last night this beaver visited the main scent mound by The Prairie Lily. It walked around shore and nibbled on a couple of small plants before hitting the mound and heading upstream. I also saw ChewBarka last night, but he was acting very strange. He was clearly agitated, as he swam quickly up and down the river, slapping his tail occasionally.
