Happy Windrush Day! The Windrush experience began when the ship HMT Empire Windrush arrived in Britain on 22 June 1948. Caribbean people were invited to Britain to help rebuild the country after World War 2. Receiving an invitation from the British Government on behalf of the King, many responded positively and journeyed over 4,000 miles to England’s ‘green and pleasant land’. Back in the summer of 2020 as part of the Whitehall Historic House National Lottery Heritage Fund project, members from
