The American eel is an iconic species native to North America, including the Bronx River in New York. Today it’s Endangered. Its numbers have plummeted to historic lows. At #CITESCoP20, we will be urging the parties to support Proposal 35, which would list the eel on Appendix II and provide critical oversight to help prevent overexploitation and illegal trafficking.
