Every year on 29th May the town of Castleton in the Derbyshire Peak District celebrates Garland Day. And as my surname happens to be Garland, I thought I’d better celebrate! Garland Day sounds like a lot of fun. The garland King leads a procession through the town on horseback wearing a massive bell-shaped garland, with the garland tune playing (please check Stories for a few choice photos).
