Daniel Neeleman on Instagram: "Flood irrigation is common in our region. We live in an arid climate with low summer precipitation but high winter snow accumulations. As the snow melts it creates life-giving irrigation water to grow an assortment of crops. In our case, a grass crop which the livestock graze. Flood irrigation provides an ultra deep soak for the soil, giving the roots moisture to drink for weeks to come. It also recharges ground water levels in the earth below."
