Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto believes Seattle acquired the "best bats" available, adding power to a lineup that already ranks fifth in the majors in home runs.

The Seattle Mariners didn't just land one of the biggest trade-deadline prizes when they acquired Eugenio Suarez from the Arizona Diamondbacks, they also made a bit of MLB history in the process. ESPN's Jeff Passan reported in the early morning hours on Thursday that the Mariners landed the top power hitter on the market,
