A yellow weather warning has been issued in Southampton as the city is covered in thick layer of fog today. The warning has been put in place from 4am until 9am today but much of the fog is set to remain into the morning. Drivers are being told to allow extra journey time as traffic is likely to be heavy as a result of the weather conditions.

The Met Office has warned of “dense fog” in the south east which will delay travel. It said that delays to bus and train services are possible, while there is a chance of delays and cancellations to flights. Commuters should check road conditions before driving, allow extra time for journeys and ensure fog lights are working.

After the county was battered by heavy rain and with river levels rising on the Severn and Teme, now Worcestershire is in the grip of thick fog as the Met Office introduce a yellow weather warning. According to the Met Office, the warning should be in place until around 9am this morning.

Parts of Norfolk have been issued yet another weather warning by the Met Office. The Met Office has warned travel delays are likely as "dense" fog settles on the east. It follows several warnings over the last few weeks for rain and a forecast of gale force winds on Sunday .
