Clark County joined 17 other Arkansas counties now under a burn ban as a large portion of the state is under a “moderate” or “high” risk of wildfire danger

Fire officials lifted the outdoor burn ban in Clark County on Tuesday, according to a press release from fire officials.

The open burn ban was expanded Friday to include additional Ohio counties even as tail end of Helene brings rain to parts of the state.

The KNWA/KFTA coverage area is going through a drought and there is no end soon. As the weather starts to transition into Fall residents might want to burn their yard waste, but it might not be the best time to do so.

Mills County Emergency Management officials say the ban effective Tuesday morning at 8 covers all areas and jurisdictions within the county, and prohibits all open and controlled burning, including all unincorporated areas within the county.
