With the news that Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is to write the new James Bond film, Amazon is sending its strongest message yet to the cinema-going public about its plans for the series. EXCLUSIVE: After setting Denis Villeneuve to direct the next James Bond movie, Amazon MGM Studios has a writer in its sights to pen the next installment in the 007 franchise. Sources tell Deadline that Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has been set to write the pic.

The most recent Bond film, 2021's No Time to Die, was written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Cary Joji Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
