Kathryn McKee and Beata Lelacheur were stuck in “very deep snow” about 5,000 feet up the mountain, officials said.

Two Massachusetts hikers were rescued after becoming stranded on Mt. Washington. On February 2 around 6 p.m. NH Fish and Game was contacted after 911 received a call about hikers lost off-trail adjacent to the Jewell Trail on Mt. Washington.

Two experienced hikers had to be rescued from Mount Washington after they got stuck in chest-high snow. Fish and Game Department officials are urging hikers to exercise caution in the extreme conditions on the mountain.
