HOUSTON – An armed robbery suspect is dead after leading Houston police on a chase and being shot by officers Sunday evening. Officers responded to reports of an armed robbery around 7 p.m. near Bellaire and Kirkwood.

An armed robbery suspect was fatally shot by Houston police following a 15-minute chase and confrontation where he allegedly failed to comply with officers' commands to drop his weapon.

A man is dead after a police chase and shooting in southwest Houston Sunday evening, according to the Houston Police Department. It started around 5:57 p.m., when officers responded to a robbery call near Bellaire Boulevard and Kirkwood Road.
