Lionel Messi played off the bench for Inter Miami at Toronto, the next-to-last contest of the regular season for the MLS Supporters Shield winners.

Inter Miami had already clinched the Supporters’ Shield and top seed for the MLS playoffs and remains on pace to break MLS points record with one game to go.

With the victory, Miami's final match of the season at home against the New England Revolution will give the Herons a chance to break the MLS single-season points record of 73 points. Campana, a consistent performer, saw his chance to step up and keep Miami on track and didn't waste it to keep their hopes alive of setting the new mark.
