Asian shares rose Monday and oil prices extended gains on worries that escalating Iran-Israel tensions could disrupt the flow of crude around the world. U.S. benchmark crude oil added 71 cents to $73.

U.S. oil prices already jumped last week, which could cause prices at the pump to rise about 20 cents a gallon in the coming weeks, according to one estimate.

Global oil prices have continued the week in gain amid tit-for-tat attacks by both Iran and Israel, as the crisis in the Middle East is far from cooling
