Justin Fields and Russell Wilson of the Pittsburgh Steelers remain on track to reach free agency when the new league year opens on March 12 amid speculation regarding their futures. According to Steelers reporters Mark Kaboly of "The Pat McAfee Show" and Aditi Kinkhabwala of CBS Sports,

NFL insider Albert Breer expects quarterback Justin Fields to re-sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason. Fields should have plenty of suitors in free agency, however.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a decision to make at quarterback this offseason, and all signs point to them re-signing one of their top two signal-callers from last year. At the NFL Scouting Combine, Steelers general manager Omar Khan said his goal is to get a deal done with either Russell Wilson or Justin Fields before the start of free agency,

The Steelers were a rumored landing spot in trade talk last offseason for Lance but opted for Russell and Fields instead. Wilson was once a top-10 NFL QB and a Super Bowl winner so that made sense. Fields had come off a so-so run in Chicago as the Bears QB but he possessed the experience Lance lacks.

Omar Khan would not confirm or deny whether the Steelers reached out to Matthew Stafford's agent. "All options are on the table," he said.

The Pittsburgh Steelers went through last season with two quarterbacks splitting starting opportunities. One of them is projected to sign with another AFC franchise.
