At the Chromebook event in New York a couple weeks ago, Google unveiled a few new devices (the new Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus and the new Lenovo Chromebook Duet 11") alongside a bunch of great, new software on the way.
The ChromeOS Recorder app is coming to all Chromebooks
The underlying recording and transcription capabilities will be available to all Chromebooks. Speech-to-text works offline and in real-time after downloading an approximately 100MB model.

Recorder will be available with ChromeOS 130 at the end of October on Chromebook Plus devices. It can be paired with a new “ Studio-style mic ” in “Video call controls” found on your shelf when the microphone is active. It reduces noise and room reverberation with an “AI-based high-quality mic simulation” to make you “sound crystal clear.”
