The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for part of Connecticut through 9 p.m. Sunday. The watch in Connecticut included Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties,

The National Weather Service said the storms could bring frequent lightning, quarter-sized hail and wind gusts up to 65 mph.

On Saturday at 3:32 p.m. the NWS Raleigh NC issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 10 p.m. The watch is for Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Nash, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake and Warren counties.

MET ÉIREANN HAS issued a Status Orange rain and thunderstorm warning for Dublin, Louth and Meath, with persistent and heavy rain expected. The warning kicks in at midnight and will last until 2pm on Monday afternoon.

State media in Vietnam have reported that 34 people were killed after a boat carrying tourists capsized during a sudden thunderstorm. Eight people remain missing.
