The Israeli military said five projectiles fell in central Israel on the anniversary of the militant group’s attacks that sparked a multifront war in the Middle East.

Hamas has fired rockets into southern Israel as the country marks a year since the 7 October massacre. Elsewhere, Israel's airstrikes continue in Lebanon, with loud explosions in Beirut. Israel says it is targeting Iran-backed Hezbollah militants.

After a year of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declaring "war" on Gaza, thousands have been killed there and Israel's bombardment has expanded to Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah - a Shia Islamist militant group which began attacking Israel on October 8 last year.
