SmackDown opened with a video recapping the events of Survivor Series before we got the usual shots of people walking backstage. Nick Aldis was shown telling Drew McIntyre he was still suspended and ordered him to leave, but Cody Rhodes attacked him in his truck.

For every negative, at least SmackDown had a positive.

You don’t typically see a lot of blood on WWE programming, but there was quite a bit shown tonight on SmackDown. This evening on WWE SmackDown, Tommaso Ciampa got his long-awaited United States Championship match against Ilja Dragunov.

Nick Aldis invited a major WWE star to return to SmackDown tonight from his suspension. This week's episode of the blue brand will air live from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
