Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while speaking at an event in Utah on Wednesday, according to a spokesperson. MINNEAPOLIS — A conservative activist, shot while at a college campus in Utah Wednesday, was also supposed to speak in Minneapolis later this month.

Minnesota elected officials from across the political spectrum are condemning Wednesday’s assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kirk was shot in Utah during the first stop of a speaking tour of college campuses — a tour which had included planned events at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities later this month.

After Utah Valley University, Charlie Kirk's next appearance was to have been at Colorado State University in Fort Collins on Sept. 18.
