A snow squall is expected to then descend on the Big Apple between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m., leaving behind a coating of possibly up to an inch of snow.

Syracuse, N.Y. -- The lake effect snowstorm closing out 2025 was a record-breaker, dropping more than 2 feet of snow in the Syracuse area. As predicted, northwest winds blowing at 50 mph or more over Lake Ontario left a narrow trail of deep snow through Onondaga, Madison and Oneida counties.
