Va. − The Iowa State women’s basketball team knew it was facing a difficult task dealing with West Virginia's intense defense Sunday. But the job got monumentally more difficult with the news that Cyclones star point guard Emily Ryan wouldn’t be available for the tough Big 12 Conference road matchup.

West Virginia delivered one of the biggest upsets of the college basketball season with a 64-57 win at home over No. 2 Iowa State on Saturday. The Cyclones entered the weekend having won their last 12 games -- the longest active winning streak in the country-- before the Mountaineers snapped it.

The Iowa State women saw their three-game win streak come to an end on Sunday at No. 20 West Virginia, 82-68. Coming into the weekend, the Cyclones (13-7, 4-3)
