Polls are now closed in Virginia, where there is a closely watched governor's race. Taxes and the economy are the most important issues for New Jersey voters, according to a preliminary exit poll analysis by ABC News.

Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill and Republican Jack Ciattarelli, a former state legislator, are facing off for the governorship after winning their June primaries.

Democrats also won both of the governor’s races that were on the ballot.
