Detroit City Council Election 2025: Results on two open seats, at-large races
Detroit made their voices heard Tuesday night as voters went and made their choice for who should hold or take a city council seat.
Results for mayor, city council and police board of commissioners races in Detroit for the Nov. 4, 2025 general election.
Voters in Pontiac and Southfield will both vote on mayor races but there's also a bond issue on the ballot in Troy. In Wayne County, outside Detroit, voters in Dearborn, Dearborh Heights and Taylor also will be voting on who should lead their cities.

Detroit’s City Council president is running to become the city's first woman mayor, with housing for single-mother-led households as a major part of her platform.
Incumbents Mary Waters and Coleman Young II came out on top in the August primary, with Waters earning 33% of the votes, while Young garnered 32.2%. Janee’ Ayers came in third with 13.8% of the votes and James Harris got 7.3%.
