TROY, Ala. — Memphis football is on the road again. The Tigers (2-0) will face Troy (1-1) on Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. It's the next-to-last game of Memphis' non-conference schedule, and the Tigers will host Arkansas on Sept. 20 before starting American Conference play at Florida Atlantic on Sept. 27.

The No. 8 Tigers survived Troy, a Group of Five program, winning 27-16 at Memorial Stadium. Clemson ’s offense was nonexistent in the first half, punting or committing a turnover in its first five drives before making a field goal before halftime.

Saturday’s Clemson-Troy football game was delayed by lightning. Play was stopped at the 10:43 mark of the first quarter with Troy leading No. 8 Clemson 7-0 at Memorial Stadium. The game was delayed around 3:48 p.m. and resumed at 5:20 p.m, a delay of roughly 90 minutes.

No. 14 Florida State honored linebacker Ethan Pritchard ahead of its Week 2 game against East Texas A&M as the freshman remains hospitalized after being shot in the head. Seminoles defensive back Earl Little Jr. brought Pritchard's jersey to midfield for the pregame coin toss.
