AMSTERDAM (Reuters) -Computer chip equipment maker ASML has informed the Dutch markets regulator of its accidental early disclosure of third-quarter earnings in what it described as a "technical error", the company said on Wednesday.

Shares in Dutch tech giant ASML plunged on Wednesday after the company accidentally released its third-quarter earnings early, which showed a 2025 guidance cut and a disappointing slump in sales bookings.

ASML shares dropped 16% after the Dutch semiconductor equipment maker released its financial results a day early, warning of weaker sales in China. The company’s forecast for 2025, now ranging between €30 billion and €35 billion ($32.

ASML said it expects net sales for 2025 to come in between 30 billion euros and 35 billion euros ($32.7 billion and $38.1 billion), at the lower half of the range it had previously provided. CFO Roger Dassen warned that China is expected to account for around 20% of the company's total revenue for the next year.
