President Donald Trump blasted the European Union for not providing aid to Gaza on Sunday, adding that Israel must "make a decision" about how to handle the region with Hamas still holding hostages.

For President Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, there was rhetorical convergence at least, on the trade deal which imposed a 15% tariff on European exports to America.

The make-or-break talks were meant to head off trade penalties — and promised retaliation from Europe — that could have sent shock waves through economies around the globe.
