With the holidays firmly in the rearview mirror, the start of the spring movie season still months away, and much of the entertainment industry laser-focused on the Oscar race, January is often a barren time for new film releases.

I don’t know who at Netflix is in charge of licensing films to appear on the service, but they’re doing an incredible job this month with new sci-fi movies specifically. Netflix previously just added both Interstellar and Inception, Christopher Nolan classics, but now they also have gotten the two actual best sci-fi movies of 2024.

This week also marks the arrival of WWE Raw on Netflix. Titled "WWE Raw: 2025," this Netflix live event will be a big moment for Netflix, as it marks the start of regular live programming for the streaming service.
