Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman was an unexpected addition to the lineup for Game 1 of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres after spraining his ankle in late September, which created pessimism from the Dodgers that he would be able to play.

With 24 hours left before the Los Angeles Dodgers start their postseason run against the San Diego Padres, the All-Star first baseman said he feels “good enough” to play in Saturday’s Game 1 despite being just a week removed from severely spraining his right ankle.

Freeman has been sidelined by a severely sprained ankle but went through a full workout Friday and expects to play in Game 1 on Saturday.
