Logan Paul has been featured on both WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown throughout the year, starting off on Raw, but moving more towards SmackDown during the summer. He’s most recently been on SmackDown in the lead up to WWE SummerSlam when he teamed with Drew McIntyre to face Randy Orton & Jelly Roll.

It seemed clear that WWE was moving toward Cena vs. Brock Lesnar after the events of SummerSlam. The company made a surprise pivot Friday, lining up Paul as the next opponent on Cena's retirement tour.
