SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces the return by a grand jury of an indictment charging Anthony Sanders, a/k/a “Slanga” (28, McRae-Helena, GA) and Marlita Andrews (28, Macon, GA), with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
WCSO warns residents of missed jury duty scam
The scam consists of calls coming from a “Sergeant Anderson,” who is seeking payment for a warrant for having missed jury duty, the agency said on Facebook. The scammers try to utilize names of WCSO actual employees, and sometimes even the sheriff’s office’s phone number to appear more legitimate, the post said.
