Todd Phillips' movie starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga is the first Hollywood comic book pic to receive the failing grade from audiences and may only open in the mid-$40 million range.

The bleak musical drama is on track to open to around $45 million, less than half of what the 2019 version made on its first weekend.

Outside the top 5 is Lionsgate’s misfire White Bird with $650K today, and $1.5M-$2M opening for the weekend.
