The 2025 U.S. Open started with 14 LIV Golf players in the field at Oakmont Country Club. Only six made the cut (which was 7 over), among those a pair of past champions who couldn't get into contention on the weekend.

The final round of the U.S. Open on Sunday at Oakmont Country Club will resume after a near two-hour delay caused by heavy rain with overnight leader Sam Burns clinging to a one-shot lead over Australian Adam Scott.
That didn't stop golf fans from enjoying their Father's Day afternoon, though. In place of the live action, NBC decided to air highlights from the final two rounds of the 2008 U.S. Open, which was won by Tiger Woods at Torrey Pines while on a bum knee.
The U.S. Open field has officially been trimmed down. The second round of the tournament at Oakmont Country Club came to a close on Friday night and only three participants were under par. Sam Burns led all golfers at three under par while J.J. Spaun was second at two under and Victor Hovland rounded out the top three at one under par.
