In response to rising antisemitism in the state, Newsom signed all four of the California Legislative Jewish Caucus’ priority bills into law, one of which aims to prevent “hate littering,” or the distribution of hateful flyers, posters or symbols meant to terrorize vulnerable communities.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed hundreds of bills into law this year aimed at addressing a range of key issues facing California including retail theft, consumer protection and affordable housing.

The new law aims to curb conservative efforts in cities like Huntington Beach, where a voter ID requirement was passed in March.
