European leaders urged US President Donald Trump on Wednesday not to strike a unilateral Ukraine peace deal with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during their one-on-one meeting later this week in Alaska.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukraine’s European partners are pushing Donald Trump to prioritise a ceasefire at his upcoming meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday. Since they won't be there, Kyiv and its allies are trying to make their voices heard.

Zelensky touched down in Berlin early Wednesday to join European leaders for an all-important call with Trump.
