A day after violent clashes in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich, security has been beefed up in the region. On October 14, situation turned tense after two communities clashed during Durga idol immersion procession in Mahasi area.

During the immersion of the idol of Goddess Durga in Bahraich on Sunday, it was reported that both the Station House Officer (SHO) and the station in-charge exhibited negligence, leading to escalating tensions and chaos.

In Bahraich, tensions soared as violence unfolded after a man's death during a Durga procession. Security remains tight with shops closed. Thirty individuals were detained by police as Opposition criticized the state government's handling of events,

25-30 people have been detained and efforts are on to bring normalcy in the areas affected by disturbance, police said.

Violence erupted during a Durga idol immersion in Bahraich, resulting in one death, several injuries, and 30 arrests, prompting tightened security and internet suspension.
