Police released the identities of the double homicide victims on Friday after their bodies were found in a West Valley City home earlier this week, leading to a deadly confrontation between officers and the victims’ adult son.

The Gibson County Coroner has identified the victims of a double homicide, which was on New Year’s Day, as Malisa K. Kegg, 53, and Michael Kegg III, 34. Both of them were shot in the chest and then died.

Police have identified the three victims injured in a New Year’s Day double homicide shooting in Northfield Township.

According to the coroner, the bodies that were discovered in the home were those of 51-year-old Malisa K. Kegg and 34-year-old Michael Kegg III. After an autopsy was conducted for the victims, the coroner's office says it was determined that both died from gunshot wounds to the chest.

The victims were identified by St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye, Sr. as as Deron E.Baker, 57, and Kaven R. Gathing, 59. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene at 12:45 a.m., Dye said.
