A.J. Hinch discusses Casey Mize's outing, the offensive struggles against Zach Eflin and more following the 10-1 loss to the Orioles

Playing Keith at third base against right-handed starters allows Hinch to have Gleyber Torres, Spencer Torkelson, Kerry Carpenter, Wenceel Perez, Parker Meadows and Riley Greene in the lineup together.

The Tigers didn’t get the desired result in the last leg of their road trip, splitting the four-game series at Rate Field following a 3-2, 10-inning loss to the White Sox on Thursday. Casey Mize battled through 4 2/3 innings,

The 28-year-old eventually gave up two runs, and although the Tigers clawed back, the White Sox stole the show in the 10th inning. However, Seth Lugo's first returning from the IL (red flag #1) and even worse, it's without any rehab outings (red flag #2). As tempting as it may be to attack the Tigers while experiencing significant offensive woes the last week (.209 BA, +29% K, .285 wOBA, 84 wRC+), I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on an under.
