When there is that big of a pileup of losses, the seed movements are not very dramatic. Only Michigan State, one of the big winners, moved up two-seed lines. All of the other seed changes were just one line up or down.

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi released his latest Bracketology rankings Tuesday, mentioning a number of area schools in (and just outside) the tournament’s field of 68. As of Tuesday, the SEC and Big Ten are among the most dominant conferences in the country, combining for 23 teams in the projected field.

Bart Torvik is a Madison native and lawyer who created the metric for ranking teams, which emphasizes recent results and takes out “garbage time” stats from late in blowout games.
