Google pitches Audio Overviews as a 'convenient...way to absorb information,' but it's also another way to kill traffic to the sources of information Google uses to generate these AI podcasts.

NotebookLM is undoubtedly one of Google's best implementations of generative AI technology, giving you the ability to explore documents and notes with a Gemini AI model. Last year, Google added the ability to generate so-called "audio overviews" of your source material in NotebookLM.

Google is launching today an experimental Audio Overviews feature that generates conversational audio responses for select search queries.
