The Islamic Republic of Iran News Network, part of Iran's state TV broadcaster, says it has been attacked by Israel, according to reports in Reuters. It follows threats earlier today from the Israeli defence minister, who said the state broadcaster was "about to disappear".
Four of the people died when a missile hit a residential block in the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva, and three more in Haifa, the local authorities said. An 80-year-old man died when his home collapsed as a result of a shock wave from a strike in Bnei Brak, a city east of Tel Aviv.
"Iran will pay a very heavy price for the premeditated murder of civilians, women and children," Netanyahu said during a visit to the site of a missile strike on a residential building in the coastal city of Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv. The death toll in Israel since the attacks began on Friday is at least 13.
